Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC) maintains incredible partnerships with local restaurants and law enforcement agencies. Throughout the year, there are several Tip-a-Cops in your county that need leadership support to be successful. Tip-a-Cop Event Leads help run these activities with event logistics, event planning, and organizing. Put your enthusiasm and organizational skills towards a great cause and join a team today!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit team members and SOSC athletes to assist with tasks, strongly encouraged
- Connect with local law enforcement agencies (contacts provided) to coordinate involvement
- Reach out to establishment to introduce yourself as SOSC volunteer representative – establish rapport and appreciation of their support (in some cases, SOSC may have a contact already and we will connect you to them)
- Coordinate with SOSC staff to collect all materials prior to the event
- Orient volunteers, law enforcement, and athletes before event
- Manage donation collection and merchandise table
- Ensure photos are taken to assist with social media promotion
- Return raised funds and materials to local SOSC office within 2 business days of event
- Flexible hours 5.0-10.0 a week
- Travel using your vehicle is required for this position
- In-person attendance required for events
- Volunteer Class A registration is required for this position
