Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC) is dedicated to promoting acceptance, inclusion, and well-being for people with intellectual disabilities through the power of sports. Key Responsibilities (Updated)

Assist in all phases of events and campaigns, including planning, execution, and follow-up

Support procurement of in-kind goods and services

Manage and organize event supplies, sponsor benefit fulfillment, and event attendance

Provide general support for LETR and Development-related duties as needed
Training & Support (Updated)

Receive direct supervision and mentorship from the Manager / Directors of Development

Weekly check-ins for progress tracking and goal setting
-
Orientation and onboarding covering SOSC history, mission, and volunteer protocols
Commitment & Work Site (Updated)

Internship runs year-round with a minimum 3-month commitment

Requires 6–12 hours/week at our Headquarters in Long Beach

Attendance at select fundraising events during the internship term is required
Qualifications & Requirements

Strong organizational skills and excellent customer service

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; ability to learn new tools

Event planning experience is a plus, but not required

Completion of volunteer application, background check, and required training
