Unified Champion Schools is an inclusive school-based strategy designed to bring together students with and without intellectual disabilities to participate in activities in three core areas:  sport and fitness, youth leadership, and campus engagement. This strategy aims to develop leadership and advocacy skills for all students in the K-12 school community and throughout college and university campuses in SOSC’s footprint.

They have a drive for connecting people to each other through encouragement, inclusion, and acceptance. They will leave with an increased understanding of the inclusive school programming listed above, the important role of a college within the SOSC community, as well as experience working with a large nonprofit organization.

Assist Head Coach with sports training and competition. Assist Head Coach with creating, organizing and conducting a comprehensive sports training program. Assist in the management of Athlete eligibility and/or medical files. Responsible for abiding by the Coaches Code of Conduct. Teach all athletes the rules of the sport and sportsmanship. Assist Head Coach in the preparation of Athletes for higher-level competition advancement. Create and maintain a positive and fun environment for all athletes. Assist with the maintenance of all appropriate team documents throughout the sports season. Create and maintain a positive and fun environment for all Athletes. Limited leadership responsibilities. Can fulfill Head Coach position on a limited basis as needed.

Commitment

This position requires one weekday or weekend (approximately 2-3 hours) for practice during an 8 (minimum) to 12 (maximum) week season. This position requires 2-3 weekends for athlete competitions during the season. This position requires a sport specific in-person training (renewable online)

Direct supervision from Senior Manager, Graphic Design, with weekly meetings and goal setting Orientation of SOSC history and protocols
