Position Description - Video Editor – 40th Anniversary Video (Volunteer)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help bring our 40th Anniversary LETR video to life by assembling photos, video clips, and historical content into a compelling final production.
  • Work from an established script and shot list—the creative direction is already in place.
  • Review and organize a large collection of photos and video spanning 40 years of LETR history.
  • Match visuals to the script and help identify the best content to tell the story.
  • Create smooth transitions, graphics, titles, and visual elements that enhance the viewing experience.
  • Help showcase the impact of LETR, Special Olympics athletes, volunteers, and law enforcement supporters throughout the years.
  • Collaborate with the project team to make edits and refinements based on feedback.
  • Deliver a polished video that will be featured during 40th Anniversary celebrations and shared with supporters.

TRAINING & SUPPORT 

  • Receive direct supervision and mentorship from the LETR Liaison and Development Administrator
  • Initial meeting to discuss vision/show examples (ESPN video)
  • Weekly check-ins for progress tracking and goal setting
  • Orientation and onboarding covering SOSC history, mission, and volunteer protocols

COMMITMENT & WORK SITE

  • Internship is project based and will be complete when project is done
  • Requires Flexible. Most of the work can be done remotely and on the volunteer's own schedule, deadline for video is October 15, 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS 

  • Comfortable working with large amounts of photo and video content.
  • Has experience using video editing software such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar.
  • Has a good eye for storytelling, pacing, and matching visuals to narration.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage media files efficiently.
  • Passionate about helping preserve and celebrate the legacy of the Law Enforcement Torch Run and Special Olympics Southern California.
